The SGO grants a scholarship to a child who needs it.

A Student Gets Funded

Funds help cover real education costs including tuition, tutoring, books, and more. Putting the right educational opportunity within reach.

Up to $1,700 Tax Credit

You claim a dollar for dollar tax credit of up to $1,700 per year, not a tax deduction.

Why this fund

Nearly 300,000 students already learn, and grow in their faith, inside America’s Jewish day schools. Your contribution lets the next child walk through those doors with tuition covered, identity formed, and family welcomed.

  1. Tuition shouldn’t decide who gets a Jewish education.

The average Jewish day school tuition now runs past $23,000 a year. Your contribution closes the gap between what a family can afford to pay and what a Jewish education costs.

  2. Jewish identity doesn’t happen by accident.

Day schools build it into every subject and every school day — Hebrew, Torah, holidays, history. Your gift gives more families access to that on purpose, and not by chance.

  3. A day school is a community, not just a building.

When a family can afford to stay, the whole community gets stronger — new volunteers, new friendships, a new generation growing up together.

The result: more children in Jewish classrooms, one gift at a time.

By the Numbers

The Need Isn’t Demand. It’s Funding. The classrooms exist. The kids are ready. What’s missing is the scholarship money to close the gap.

90%+

of every dollar you give funds scholarships directly, by federal rule.

$10,000

the gap between average day school tuition and the median aid award. That gap is the whole reason this fund exists.

906

Jewish day schools and yeshivas nationwide, from small community schools to large yeshivas.

Who your gift Reaches

The Jewish Scholarship Fund is built for every family choosing a Jewish education — whether they’ve been part of it for generations or are discovering it for the first time.

  • Day school families for generations

  • Families choosing it for the first time

  • Households carrying more than one tuition

  • Every community, every stream
